Groundwater investigations and remediation study

Summary

The tender concerns cross-site groundwater investigations and a remediation study. The contractor must carry out semi-annual groundwater monitoring in lots 1 and 2, and for lot 1 also perform a variant-comparison remediation study under Section 13 of the Federal Soil Protection Act. The work includes assessing the current groundwater status, expanding the monitoring network, forecasting future development, updating and extending groundwater flow and contaminant transport models, and agreeing the future soil-protection approach with all parties. For the former chemical trading site in Erfurt (lot 1), the contractor must also plan the decommissioning of the above-ground groundwater treatment plant ready for execution, supervise the decommissioning, and carry out further investigations to determine the type and scope of soil-protection measures.
