Summary

The tender concerns the construction of a new thermal storage unit 3 at the Flensburg combined heat and power plant and the replacement of the existing thermal storage unit 1. The new storage unit must be a pressureless thermal storage tank with a steam cushion, technically equivalent to the thermal storage unit 2 already in operation at the same site. The required capacity is at least 900 MWh, with a maximum storage temperature of 98 °C, a return temperature of 65 °C, a maximum charging and discharging capacity of 90 MW, and approximate dimensions of 42 m internal diameter and 21 m maximum filling height. Because it will be connected in parallel with storage unit 2, both storage units must reach the maximum filling level at the same geodetic height.
