Participation requirements

Tender requirements are available in the official tender documents.

Compliance requirements

The bidder must confirm the mandatory exclusion grounds, especially that neither the bidder nor its management, administrative or supervisory body members, nor persons authorised to represent, decide for or control the bidder, have been finally convicted in the last five years for participation in a criminal organisation, corruption, fraud, terrorist offences, money laundering, child labour or human trafficking, or other listed exclusion grounds. If an exclusion ground applies, the bidder may provide evidence of self-cleaning where allowed. The machine-readable notice did not include the full list of exclusion grounds, so the exact details must be checked in the tender documents.

Qualification criteria and exclusion grounds

The bidder must submit the substantive materials and evidence required in the tender documents. According to the compliance requirements, the bidder must provide: a short description of the programme episodes and production stages, including the cost of each stage and the channel and broadcast time; a cross-media plan showing the social media channels to be used and the frequency of coverage; a list of at least 3 tasks, including 1 duel between two contestants; a list of the production team with CVs for the producer, director, science editor and editor; a description of the division of work among team members; a CV for the host or hosts and a demo performance clip or a link to it; a written preliminary agreement with a TV service provider; and, in the case of a joint bid, a power of attorney for the joint bidders. The production team must include at least 1 producer, 1 director, 1 science editor and 1 editor. All of them must have prior experience in producing a programme broadcast on a nationwide TV channel: the producer must have at least 2 programme production references, the director at least 2 directing references, the science editor at least 2 science editing references, and the editor at least 2 editing references. The host or hosts must have at least 1 prior experience of hosting a TV programme. The bidder must also confirm that the bid complies with the tender documents and, where necessary, that equivalence has been explained and supporting evidence has been added.
